Formlane keeps the messages your shoppers send you. Here is everything we keep, and for how long.

Your shoppers

When a shopper sends one of your forms, we keep what they typed and the files they added. This can be a name, an email, a phone number, an order number and a message.

If your form has an agree box, we keep its words and the time the shopper ticked it.

We do not keep the shopper's IP address or browser details. We do not read your customer list or your orders.

Files are kept in a private store. Only you can download them, from inside the app.

We use your shoppers' messages only to show them to you, and to send the emails you turn on.

How long we keep messages

We keep each message and its files for 24 months. You can make this shorter in the app (3, 6 or 12 months). Older messages are deleted every day.

You can download all your messages at any time, also after you stop your plan.

Shopper requests

When a shopper asks your store to delete their data, Shopify tells us. We then delete every message and file sent with that email or phone number.

When a shopper asks for their data, we show the request in the app. You download their messages in one click and send them.

What we store about your shop

  • Your shop address, name and email. We use them to run the app and to send you notes about your forms and your plan.
  • The name and email of the staff member who logs in with Shopify. We use them to run the app.
  • Your forms, their saved versions and your settings.
  • Your plan and trial dates, and which steps of the app you used.
  • The results of our checks on your store.
  • Your answer to our email question, with its date and your shop email.

Email from us

We email you about new features and our other apps only if you said yes. Every one of these emails has a link to stop them.

Notes about new messages and your plan are sent either way.

When we delete it

When you remove the app, your forms leave your store at once.

We delete all your data, with every message and file, within 48 hours after you uninstall. Shopify tells us to do this with a shop/redact message.

To stop a second free trial, we keep one code made from your shop address for 180 days. It does not say who you are.
